What time does the event finish?

The event will finish around 11.00am, but many people are likely to stay around and enjoy a picnic lunch or BBQ.

What time does each race start?

When do entries close?

  • Enter by 5pm on 30 April 2008 to qualify for the early bird
    registration fee savings

What roads will be closed?

No roads will be closed as the event will be held within the Lake Monger Reserve.

Where can I pick up my race number?

Numbers can be picked up from 7:30am on the day of the event from the Numbers Pick-Up at the Registration marquee located at the BBQ Area in Lake Monger Reserve.

What if I lose my race number?

You can pick-up another race number from Registration Marquee on the morning of the event. All participants must wear a race number. Anyone without a race number will not be permitted to start the event.

Are bikes/skateboards/rollerblades permitted in the event?

No, for safety reasons, bikes/skateboards/rollerblades are not allowed.

What should I wear?

Walkers - normal street clothes and a comfortable pair of shoes. Runners - comfortable running gear and shoes.

Where can I park?

The visitor facility car park is at the Powis Street end of the Reserve. The facility provides visitors easy and safe access to the Reserve.

Can I catch public transport to the event?

You can access Lake Monger from the Joondalup train Line, disembarking at the Joondanna train station and crossing the exit walkway onto Lake monger Reserve.

Where is the start and finish line?

The start line is located near the BBQ and picnic area of Lake Monger Reserve. Access to the start area is from Dodd Street.

I have sent my entry in but haven’t heard anything - has my entry been accepted?

Race kits will commence being sent 4-6 weeks prior to the event. If you are concerned, call the Event Hotline on (08) 9204 1899.

I have received my event information kit but not my merchandise?

Event information kits and event merchandise are sent seperately. If you have not received your event merchandise before the event you can pick it up on the day.

What will the entry show on my credit card?

Your credit card statement will show Women in Super.

What happens on the main stage?

The main stage will also be used for the memorial minute silence, warm-up aerobics and presentations from sponsors.

How long will it take to walk?

3.5km - about 35 to 45 minutes

What age categories are there for the runners?

U15, U18, 18-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

Are there any food vendors?

Coffee carts and a sausage sizzle.

Do you get a trophy?

Presentations will include trophies and prizes for place getters (1st, 2nd, 3rd) of the running events, along with lots of random spot prizes for participants of all events.

All competitors will receive a medallion in their show bag. Age category winners medals will be posted in the mail two after the event.

Will I be timed?

We are only timing the runners in both the 3.5km and the 7km runs. The walkers are not being timed.

Can I change the event I am in?

Yes, but the different walk/run events have different starting times. Just make sure you depart for the event you want to change over to when the announcement is made at the assembly area.

It is important that we are aware that you are changing events. Please go to number pick-up so they can record the change. You will retain the same event number if you’re only changing your distance. If you’re changing between a run or walk then you will need to be reissued with a new event number.

Where can I leave my bag?

There is a Clothing Marquee to leave your clothing near the BBQ area of Lake Monger Reserve.

Where will the toilets be?

The toilets are located behind the main stage and at the start line. It is advised that you use the toilets at the main assembly area to avoid congestion at the start line.

Where will the first-aid stations be located?

Sports Medicine Australia will be prodiving the first aid during the event. The Medical Marquee will be located at the start/finish line.

Where will the drink stations be?

Water is provided at the two drink stations on course and at the recovery area at the finish line.

Where do you pick up the MDC medallion and other event goodies?

Once you have completed your event, you will be directed to the area to collect your Mothers Day Classic medallion and showbag containing event goodies, kindly donated by the sponsors.

Where can I find out my results?

Results will be available on the website www.motherdayclassic.org on Monday 12 May at 5pm. Remember, only runners are being timed.

Can I get a tribute placard if I didn’t order one?

Yes, you can pick up your tribute placard on the event day.
