What time does the event finish?
The event usually finishes around noon, but many people stay around and enjoy a picnic lunch.
What time does each race start?
10km run
START: 8:30am
5km run
START: 9:30am
all walkers
START: 9:35am
When do entries close?
- Enter by 5pm on 25 April to qualify for the early bird registration fee savings.
- Mailed entries close on 2 May.
- Online entries close at 5pm on 6 May.
- Enter by 2 May to have your Event Information Kit mailed to you before the event. Otherwise Kits will be available for collection on the day.
Where can I pick up my race number?
Numbers can be picked up from 7am on the day of the event from the Numbers Pick-Up marquee located at Grevillea Park.
What if I lose my race number?
You can pick-up another race number from Number Pick-Up on the morning of the event. All participants must wear a race number. Anyone without a race number will not be permitted to start the event.
What should I wear?
Walkers - normal street clothes and a comfortable pair of shoes. Runners - comfortable running gear and shoes.

I have sent my entry in but haven’t heard anything - has my entry been accepted?
Event information kits will commence being sent 4-6 weeks prior to the event. Your event information kit will be post within two weeks of being received.
I have received my event information kit but not my merchandise?
Event information kits and event merchandise are sent separately. If you have not received your event merchandise before the event you can pick it up on the day.
What will the entry show on my credit card?
Your credit card statement will show “WIS Mothers Day Clc”.
What happens on the main stage?
A number of delegates, celebrities and sponsors will be giving brief talks on the main stage. The main stage will also be used for the memorial minute of silence and warm-up aerobics.
How long will it take to walk?
4km - about 45 to 55 minutes
8km - about 90 to 120 minutes
What age categories are there for the runners?
U15, U18, 18-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
Are there any food vendors?
Coffee carts and sausage sizzle.
Do you get a trophy?
Presentations will include trophies and prizes for place getters (1st, 2nd, 3rd for males and females) of the running events, along with lots of random spot prizes for participants in all events.
Age category winners medals will be posted in the mail two weeks after the event.
All competitors will receive a medallion in their show bag.
Will I be timed?
We are only timing the runners in both the 4km and the 8km runs. The walkers are not being timed.
Can I change the event I am in?
Yes, but you must call the event organisers on 1300 762 241. If you are changing from the walk to the run you will be required to pay additional timing fee ($3).
It is important that we are aware that you are changing events. If you decide to change your event on-the-day please go to the number pick-up marquee so they record the change. You will retain the same event number if you’re only changing your distance.
What time will the aerobic warm-up start?
The aerobic warm up will commence at 7:45am for 4km runners, 8:30am for 8km runners and 9:45am for all walkers, in front of the main stage.
Where can I leave my bag?
There is a Clothing Marquee to leave your clothing. Please don’t leave any valuables with your belongings.
Where will the toilets be?
Toilets will be located at the assembly area.
Where will the first-aid stations be located?
A first aid station will be located at the assembly area.
Where will the drink stations be?
Water is provided at three drink stations, two on the course and one at the finish line.
Where do you pick up the MDC medallion and other event goodies?
Once you have completed your event, please return to the assembly area to collect your Mothers Day Classic medallion, showbag containing event goodies, kindly donated by the sponsors.
Where can I find out my results?
Results will be available for the Canberra event on the website www.motherdayclassic.org on Tuesday 13 May at 5pm. Remember, only runners are being timed.
Can I get a tribute placard if I didn’t order one?
Yes, you can pick up your tribute placard on the event day.
What charity do the proceeds go to/ does this race support?
All proceeds from entry fee goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Any donations of more than $2 are tax deductible (entry fee is not a donation).
If I cannot attend the event can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds for the event.
