Rond Terrace, Commonwealth Park. The 5km run/walk and 10km run follows footpath arounds scenic Lake Burley Griffin.

Start times
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your event in order to allow plenty of time to register and warm up.

Registration closing dates
- Enter by 5:00pm on 30 April to qualify for the early bird registration fee.
- Mailed entries close 30 April.
- Online entries close 5:00pm Tuesday 6 May.
- Enter by 2 May to have your event information kit mailed to you before the event. Otherwise kits will be available on the day.
- Registration also available on the day at the event. Arrive early to avoid the queues.
How to register
Register via the website or use an entry form which is available from local running stores and fitness centres. On day registration will be available from 7.30 am.

Timing
Only runner’s will be timed. All runners will receive a black timing band that MUST be worn around your ankle in order to receive a finishing time. This band MUST be returned at the finish line, if not returned there will be a $70 charge.
Team registration
In the interests of everyone’s safety, Mothers Day Classic participants will be asked to start in several waves according to your bib numbers, instead of starting in one large mass.
If you would like to be sure of starting in the same wave as your friends, why not nominate one of you to be a Team Co-ordinator and group yourself together in a team as you register.
Event information kit
An event information kit and your event bib will be mailed to all participants whose registration is received by Friday 2 May 2008.
If you register after 2 May, you will need to collect your event bib on the morning before your event at the Mothers Day Classic registration area.
Runner’s timing bands and race number is not included in the event information kit, they will be available for collection on the morning of the event at registration. You will receive the participants instructions sheet and a sponsorship form in the event information kit.
Prizes
All participants
- All participants receive a commemorative medallion.
- Male and female winners of the 10km run will receive $500 kindly donated by Perennial Investment Partners. Second place will receive $200.
- Male and female winners of the 5km run will receive $500 kindly donated by cHr Consulting. Second place will receive $200.
- One school prize of $1000 of the largest school team kindly donated by Franklin Templeton Investment.
- UniSuper Largest Tertiary Institution Team - The largest team from ACT will receive a magnificent trophy and the largest tertiary team to participate in the Mothers Day Classic nationwide will also receive $1000 prize money kindly donated by UniSuper.
- Largest corporate team wins a magnificent trophy.
- Highest individual fundraiser - the individual raising the most money will win domestic flights to the value of $1000 kindly provided by QANTAS.
- Spot prizes - all participants are eligble to win great spot prizes including weekend packages, meals and gift baskets.
- Age catagory* medals for 5km and 10km runs will be mailed to winners of their age catagory after the event.* Age catagories are: U15, U18, 18-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
Dedicate the event to someone special
The Mothers Day Classic gives you a great opportunity to support or remember someone dear to you and their fight against breast cancer. Placards will be available to allow you to dedicate your participation, and a memorial minute of silence will be held before the event starts.
You can wear a tribute placard to dedicate your participation to someone you have lost to breast cancer or who is fighting the disease. To obtain your placard, tick the box on the registration form or visit our special placard tent on the day.

Merchandise
You can order our special Mothers Day Classic t-shirts, hoodies, socks, caps, apron and even an oven mitt. You can also purchase merchandise when you register on the day (subject to availability).
Activities at the event
The Mothers Day Classic is much more than a walk/run. We provide lots of extra activities for kids and adults. These include warm-up aerobics, activity area and entertainment.
Kids Stuff
There are lots of activities for kids at the Mothers Day Classic. You will find roving performers, face painting and lots of entertainment.
Kids can enter the Mothers Day Classic to walk or run so long as they have permission from their parent or guardian. Kids who run in the Mothers Day Classic may be eligible to win an age medal if they come first in their age group - click here to see the list of age categories.
