I am a Client Relationship Manager in Tasmania with HESTA Super Fund, the industry super fund for health and community services. I have been involved in the superannuation industry for ten years, which is how I came to be involved with Women in Super.

I am the Chair of the Women in Super Tasmanian Forum, also representing the group at national level and Chair of the Hobart Mothers Day Classic Organising Committee. The Mothers Day Classic was successfully run in Hobart for the first time in 2006, and the participant figure of 1012 exceeded all expectations.

Heading up the local organising committee is one of the most rewarding challenges I have undertaken, and I love working with such a fantastic team of volunteer committee members who deliver with a minimum of fuss. It’s hard work for all of us but it’s a great opportunity to meet interesting people and make new friends.

Prior to joining HESTA, I managed the Victorian Branch of the Australian Nursing Homes and Extended Care Association (ANHECA) for eight years and ran my own business.

I am married with one daughter and two step daughters and I’m looking forward to a bigger and better Hobart Mothers Day Classic in 2007.

I am going to keep a blog recording the challenges I face in co-ordinating the local Mothers Day Classic and hope to give you a bit of an insight into what goes on behind the scenes to organise an event like this.
