Inspiration

March 26th, 2008 by Duncan

Hi everyone, I hope you’re tuning in to the Aussie swimming trials happening in Sydney at the moment as our stars try to place themselves on the team for the Beijing Olympics. duncan_small.jpgI’m poolside with Foxsports seeing all the swimmers up close and all their efforts are inspiring me and my running routine as I look towards the 8k event of the Mothers Day Classic.

Take time to let yourself be inspired by the efforts of our top athletes. No matter what your sporting passion whether it’s Rugby, Netball, Soccer, Swimming, Softball or Hockey take advantage of the inspiration provided by the feats of our heroes to enhance your own training for the MDC. Then get out there and train!! If you are not up to an 8k run, there’s always the 4k event and if you aren’t a runner, no excuses, it’s a very pleasant Sunday morning walk by the beautiful Brisbane River doing the 4k walk!

Good Luck

Yes Duncan, hope our swimmers do well BUT the record books should have been ruled off and a new set started when the bodysuits were first introduced. Todays swimmers are no better than yesterdays (Tarzan?Johnny Weismullers 74 world records in the 1920’s still stand)
But you don’t need to wear a bodysuit to take part in the walk/jog for breastcancer, so, don’t stay in bed on May 11.

Hi Duncan, many of those great swimmers are based here in Canberra at the AIS, and we are lucky to have the AIS supporting the event. AIS athletes will attend the Mothers Day Classic in Canberra and we hope they are inspired by all the wonderful women who have survived breast cancer. Regard Cate
